Why It Matters

Our rivers are used by more than just "bathers"—they’re lifelines for recreation, wildlife, and wellbeing. That’s why we’re campaigning for:

1. Legal designation of local swim spots as Recreational Water Status

2. Real-time alerts on sewage spills from Thames Water via the EA’s new flood platform

3. Stronger EA-Citizen Science partnerships to expand monitoring reach and accountability
